Sorry but I've been side-tracking my work on Tranquil Nuclear Winter with a remake of the weapons module...so here's an update:
Re-worked all the lasers as described in the "module on deck" page...so they shoot longer than the original instantaneous. I was able to get them to have the "pulse" effect from the mech3 pulse lasers so you have to hold them on target in order to get the full damage and usually it's a moving target (if you're running one of my improved AI modules anyway) so when the target is moving the damage from lasers gets spread across the mech. Yes, the idea came from MWO, and I thought it was a great idea so I used it.
Re-worked the Pulse-Lasers so that they fire like machine guns...it's pretty cool to watch...the mediums fire twice as fast as the large...I did this because the Large Pulse-Laser just became way way too powerful...I also dropped the damage per shot. I'm sure I'll be adjusting this several more times before the final release. Playing these hot weapons on the ice map of Durgan City Tranquil Nuclear winter has been a serious challenge...and a lot of fun!
Started re-working the LBX AC's, and AC's...still have plenty to do with these
Re-worked the PPC's, and replaced the Small Pulse Lasers with the Snub-Nose PPC, and the IS Small Laser with the Heavy PPC w/capacitor
ERPPC's and Heavy PPC: added the Btech range limit, so at 100 meters or under the damage drops to 25%,
The Snub-Nose PPC is a PPC weapon with a short range of 460 meters, and does not have the minimum range limit of the other PPC's, so for this reason I felt it was an interesting choice.
Added 4 more PPC "thunderclaps" to the already existing 4 from way back when I first started this module about 3-4 years ago.
The game has a way that you can create a list of sound that it chooses from one after another so that you can create the effect of randomness...and since I believe that a PPC should sound like Thunder, and thunderclaps never sound the same way twice this was great to do, and in game it is fabulous.
Here are 4 examples of the thunderclaps I created for all the PPC's:
The site demands conversion to mp3 format, so during the conversion from .wav the mix seems to have been lost where the "pop-click" in each one is way louder than it actually is in the game, and also there's premature drop-off...each one had a decent fade-out. So, they're not exactly the way they sound in-game but you get the idea....
